Investigation leads to arrests and charges of drug crimes

The regulation of drug crimes in the United States is becoming more intense. Within the state of Massachusetts, law enforcements agencies are focusing in and enforcing the drug crimes of possession and manufacturing by pursuing criminal charges against high profile drug operations. In a recent drug bust, two individuals were arrested and are now facing serious charges of drug crimes.

On Friday evening, after executing a search warrant, police arrested two individuals for the distribution of dangerous drugs with a high chance of addiction to members throughout two communities. The individuals were both charged with possession of a Class A substance and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act. Both were released on bail and are scheduled for arraignment.

Should these charges hold up in court, these individuals could possibly face prison time, along with an uncertain future. With felony drug convictions, a judge may be limited in the ability to make discretionary decisions based on the circumstances of the crime and any previous charges. A conviction may make it hard to obtain a job, receive any government assistance or maintain citizen rights. Additional sanctions such as suspended driver's license and felony registration are other possible penalties.

Massachusetts residents who are convicted with similar drug crimes charges and are facing an uncertain future are encouraged to know and protect their rights by obtaining a legal counsel. With the right representation, a similar case can be manageable, regardless of the situation and its seriousness. Despite the severity of a crime, a person's rights should be defended. Building a strong defense can help achieve the best possible outcome.
